Frequently Asked Questions – Lymphatic Drainage & Massage Therapy
FAQ
We understand that starting a new wellness journey comes with questions, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.

					 1. Should I see a therapist if I’m not in pain?

Massage therapy is a natural way to relieve pain and prevent issues when done regularly. Feel free to come whenever you need or want.
					 2. Is massage painful?

Most people feel relief, though some may experience mild soreness for a day or two due to lactic acid release.
					 3. How old does a person need to be to receive massage therapy?

Any age. Massage therapy is effective from birth until palliative care stages. I accept new clients from 17 years old.
					 4. What'll happen at my first massage?

You’ll fill out an Intake Form to share your goals or concerns. I will explain the treatment, listen to any questions, and give you privacy to get comfortable. Feel free to ask anything at any time.
					 5. What if I need the bathroom?

We recommend going to the bathroom before your session, but if needed, please do speak up.
					 6. How often will I need treatments?

Your body will guide you – some people benefit from just a few sessions, while others choose regular massage for ongoing care and disease prevention. If a treatment plan is recommended, it will include a suggested number of sessions, but you’re always free to decide what feels right for you.
					 7. Why is lymphatic drainage massage recommended for overall health?

Because it enhances lymph flow, supporting detoxification, reducing edema, improving circulation, and promoting immune and tissue health. When the lymphatic system functions optimally, the entire body tends to perform more efficiently.
In this context, massage becomes a powerful ally in preventive care—supporting both physiological and psychological well-being.
					 8. What’s the difference between lymphatic drainage massage (MLD) and lymphatic drainage therapy (LDT/Packages)?

MLD is offered as a single session – highly recommended for health support and maintenance, while LDT follows a structured protocol that includes evaluation, treatment plan (e.g., 1 to 6 months), and follow-ups. For lymphatic dysfunctions, it is recommended to start with LDT before transitioning to MLD.
					 9. What maternity care services are offered at this facility?

Pregnancy massage is available from 16 weeks of gestation up to birth.
Postpartum care depends on the type of delivery:
- Following a vaginal birth, lymphatic drainage massage can begin within the first few days.

- After a cesarean, specialized C-section massage is recommended from 6 weeks to support healing and rehabilitation. As recovery progresses, lymphatic drainage is gradually introduced, with ongoing assessment for a safe transition to full-body treatment. Individual healing timelines are always respected.

					 10. Foot reflexology, foot massage, or leg massage?

We can customize the session to your needs by blending foot reflexology, foot massage, and leg massage. While foot reflexology is always included, we can also incorporate a bit of plantar fascia release or add leg lymphatic drainage as needed. Please consult the therapist to confirm if any additional time or fees apply.
					 11. Should I talk to the therapist during my massage?

Feel free to chat or simply relax – it’s up to you. Just speak up if you’re too hot, cold, in pain, have questions, or forgot to mention something.
					 12. Is it okay to ask for more or less pressure?

Yes! Your therapist will check in about pressure, and you should always speak up if you’d like a pressure adjustment. Massage doesn’t need to be painful to be effective.
					 13. What if I fall asleep and drool or snore?

It’s perfectly normal to fall asleep – or even snore or drool during a massage. It just means you’re relaxed, and there’s no judgment at all.
					 14. Do you offer massage gift cards?

Yes! A therapeutic massage is a great way to show someone how much you care. For details, ask your therapist or the receptionist.
